There are times where a C-rigged soft plastic is going to out produce any other bait. In my experience, it has been the summer time.
You have to learn to refine your presentations from day to day. There are times where fish will want to hear a clicking sound, which is produced by inserting a bead between your swivel and weight.
However, what happens when you find fish that aren't wanting to hear that little clicking noise, and how do you go about protecting the knot you tied from the weight?
A little secret that I have found is that if take a regular sewing needle, and thread your main line through the eye, and then cut a small amount of a rubber band, about 1/4" long. Take the needle, and thread it through the piece of rubber band, then remove the needle once pass through the other side.
Now, you can take the main line, tie the knot to the swivel, and you have the rubber band bewteen the weight and the knot, protecting the knot.

I use MOJO weights that protect your knot. They can be moved up for a CR or down to a Texas rig...you can have a 5" CR or a 2 foot or more CR....works great for me.

I hardly ever use a "traditional" c-rig anymore, i started using the gambler "rattlin" weights .. i think thats what they call them.. and use those little rubber peg deals and peg the weight up where ever i want... its alot easier to cast heavier worms. I was noticing that when using big heavy worms... 10" or longer and the heavy salt baits... the bait was heavier than the weight and sometimes the weight on a c-rig would run up the line when i cast... not anymore with the pegging trick...anyway, I also have more confidence with this rig, there are fewer "weak" spots (IMHO) less knots, and if you break off, it takes about 30seconds to re-tie... thats my $.02

I went to BPS (Grapevine) last night they don't have the weights.
I now realize that we have the access to get them ourselves.
