Ok this is serious Bizness. Some people have expressed thier displeasure with the TMC problems on Proboards which is free. To move to a pay board would cost $10 to about $45 a month from what we have seen. If we do a $10 a month board we can not post sponsors banners or Ad's as far as I know. If we do a $45 a month board it would be the same as another board. Do we have the support from the members for a pay board? So far I have a yes from Hamby's, Enterprise, Persuader & Coyotek we also have interest from other potential advertisers such as Strikeworks and RMA running the Mexican lodges. Rick also suggested memberships such as TFF has with and Avatar. Such as BFW Supporter, BFW Sponsor, BFW Fishing Team or BFW Pro-Team based on contribution. So do we stay small or blow the doors off this deal? The sky and money is the limit. I am also going to try and get press releases sent to us to post in an Industry News section of our from page. My 1st one will be Skeeter Yamaha due to my association with them. Eventually I would like them to sponsor the board and have thier video clips available. Thoughts input please.

OK I will play Devils advocate is this $10 or $40 a month each or total price and is there a surcharge for for say when we get more members and we get a lot more post going
as I see it we either have to stay small and live with the Too many connections or grow and go up to a pay board with no guarantee they will not have problems also
Also how much more work is this going to be on You John

I think we need to do what is best for everyone. If we have to move to a pay site to keep growing then thats what we need to do. We should be able to get enough support from advertising to cover costs I would think. Also maybe a pay site will make it easier on John He works very hard for us, all of the administrators and moderators do!!!

Well Bill the work on me is no big deal. I like helping people. I want everyone to enjoy themselves here. Thats what it's all about. Nothing comes without problems. You and I had to discuss something very small and petty yet important. So these things will alway come up. I am not sure about the $10 boards as far as posts, page views etc. Rick is going to have his webmaster call me. A board like the site we are used to is $40 a month and thats for 20,000 messages and 50,000 page views. The next step up is about $69.00. If we started member sponsorships it would be based on a yearly membership and would not be required to post or participate in this board it would be voluntary. Membership prices would not increase with board upgrades and traffic. I believe this would be passed on to sponsors as they would recieve increased exposure. A site like ours with 138 hits a day will be much less that a board with thousands of hits a day. Or we would need to add more advertising areas such as small banners on the bottom of the page.

What about banner ads and menus etc Rick? Or should I inquire with your webmaster about that?

Hey guys I am late showing up today. Had business in big town of Tomball all morning. As I have said repeatedly, I am in for the long haul and very much for making this board "the" board in our industry. That means growth and that requires investments. Count of Geneva Enterprises to the limit of my budget. Sic 'em and continued kudos to John, Dave, et al. George

As I have said, I will sponsor as much as I can. I think you need to go for the Growth........ You also need to make a dollar or two for yourself and staff. This is a time consuming job here.
If the sponsor monies won't pay the bills, then a small membership(optional) would be in order. If I had more time I would get more involved myself.
Roger

You are only asking for a couple bucks a month from less than half of us. I see the value of it. We may need to begin a Team Texas organization. Have a $20 a year member ship which gets you a free Team Texas bumper sticker, a $35 a year membership and through in a Team Texas hat, and so on. Drive On!

Gary you are right on track with what a few of us have discussed and were thinking. We will develop BFW gear also and decals just waiting on art work. Team Texas is good for the home boys and girls. We also need to expand to our fishing brothers & sisters in other states.

It looks like we will have enough people to back this financially. But everyone must understand nothing is perfect. Even if we paid $200 a month for a board thier will still be down time and problems

Do you know how much bandwidth the forum is using? You might want to check into www.totalchoicehosting.com/$44.00 dollars a year to host our business website. They have several packages. There are several of our local forums being hosted with them. I have a buddy that would set it up for a small fee if you don't already have connections. Shane ;D
