hey guys, just need a little help on where to start looking for the problem, all lights on trailer work except for the back-up lights, and of course the brakes lock up now when in reverse, i had to un-plug them to back-up, any suggestion?

I would take a voltage meter and check each connector on the plug (coming from your truck). Turn the blinkers on and see if you can get a reading, turn the running lights on and see if you can get a reading etc. Sounds like the problem could be coming from the truck.
That will at least tell you if the problem is coming from your truck or if it's in the boats wiring.
Secondly check your boat's ground, then check for any cut wires.

John - I am guessing that your are using a round connector to your truck and then a 5-way flat to your trailer. It is likely that the prongs (I believe that there are 6) in the middle of your round connector have spread out a little. Carefully squeeze them into a tight circle rather than having them flared out. The prongs should be straight up and down - not tilted out or tilted in. They have to make a good connection with the center post where you plug into your truck.
Also, check for any corrosion on that middle post.
I hope this makes a little sense. It is much easier to show than write directions.
Good luck!

thanks guys, as it turned out it was a blown fuse under the hood, it is marked trailer b/u 10amp like payette had stated, thanks john, now all i need to do is fiqure out why it is blowing the fuse, most likely water in one of the lights or a bad ground to one of the back-up lights, i will check and report back.....................

Glad it was only a fuse. Like you said, you probably have a bad ground somewhere. Nothing like starting to back up and nearly having your trailer brakes try to lift the back of your truck off the ground.
