OK Sandy Cain and Bruce Carter are considering purchasing Lowrance 102C's. Who has them and may we have some conversation about what you like or dislike about the unit? Is thier a better color unit for the bow in the $400 price range?

I haze the 100c , last year's model... i think the 102 replaced this one... i love it... at first i did not like it, you have to learn to read a depthfinder again with the color, but man... i like it... the screen is a little fragile though... right now mine is at lowrance getting fixed.... screen broke..

I have the 100C and 332c the 102C has the same screen as the 332C and it great The 102C has 480 by 480 pixels and has the new brighter screen it can be seen in the brightest daylight and polarized glasses do not effect the viewing like the older 320 by 240 color units the display can also be seen off from one side like tail chaser said you sort of have to learn to re read sonar in B&W there are 4 shades of gray in color there is 256 colors there is so so much more things to look at even the layers of water temp in colors so it is easier to find the thermocline in a lake with 256 color it can display more exacting detail when it shows fish there are fish not a tree of soft wood
I would not go back to B&W
also if you have not looked at the 332C it is color and GPS in one unit for about $150 more

Bill Hall, Thanks for the info. I've seen Ed's and it looks pretty cool. I plan on getting the 102C to replace my X97. Sandy

Joel, I've got two X97's on the boat. I'll replace one with a 102C. I imagine I'll sell one of them. Are you interested? I've got older unit's going back to the 80's, but who want's old tech... What I'm told is the 97 is exactly like the 135. Sandy

Joel, I haven't got back to you yet, because I'm totally not sold on the 102C. I was told I would have to get a different transducer and that creates a problem. I'll let you know when and if I decide what I'm going to do. Thanks Sandy
