Has anyone used Carolina Keepers? They are a hard plastic sleeve that you slip on your line to hold your weight in place. What size weight will they support?

Have had no issues with them sliding down the line! The best thing is you can adjust your leader length on the fly without reting. The disadvantage is line twist. I don't use a swivel when I use one, so if I'm using a bait that causes line twist I go old school. Shane ;D

I have a partner whose arms are getting too short to see to tie his knots well and it takes him about 15 minutes to re-tie. I was looking for something to help him get back in the water when he breaks off. I may give them a try as well. Thanks for the input.

I used them last week for the first time. They worked well on Big Game but kept sliding down on the Iron silk. I guess they don't work well on some lines or maybe I squeezed it to hard?

i use 2 at a time to keep the big weight up.... i use a cinch blood not to tie on about 10ft of flurocarbon slip on the mag weight couple glass beads and 2 carolina keepers and have never had one break off. 1 tip wet the line be good before you slide the keepers up or as you adjust depth. I've caught plenty big fish on this rig up in the 8lb range and wrapped around stumps on the bend. i use the long fluro. so i can retie as the line freighs.

I've tried them, don't really care for them. I use braid with a FC leader and that work's for me. If you use mono line, I suppose it would work, I'd be a little scared that it would nick or weakon my line. Sometimes easiest is not the best. Just somehing to think about.

I have been using them for the past few years. I like them but if you use cord, hard to thread. One problem is if you use mono, certain types will fray when you move the keeper up or down. You want to make sure that you squeeze them so the line moves freely.

Hard to beat having the swivel to a leader. Crimp ons of any kind are going to have their problems.
